Kawasaki is one
of major player in Malaysian two-wheeler industry. After some boasting rumors regarding Kawasaki Z1000 2014, then the bike will be introduced in short time, a proven commitment from Kawasaki.
Several media
friends already tested the Z1000 in Spain last year. Quite shocked, Kawasaki Malaysia
called local media to have a sneak preview to the new Kawasaki Z1000 and Ninja 1000 and have
some mileages on both of it at Langkawi Island.
These days, Kawasaki
and several Japanese manufacturers received highly market threaten from continental
manufacturers. We are not sure either Japanese left behind as they too
confident with their own values or the continentals is resurrect too advance.
As we
believe, Kawasaki has given a promise to be more serious to development stages
with new innovation and new technology approaches. Kawasaki Malaysia Press Introduction
2014 in Langkawi, held at Meritus Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa, testified the
new Z1000 and Ninja1000.
The new Z1000
overall design has been revised to the concept of ' Sugomi ' – predator style. Sharp
front nose radical design with the new headlight inflicted aggressive character.
Meanwhile, the Ninja 1000 which known as Z1000SX before this had not too much
differences. But, the riding position has been improved with several new features.
Most of the
technical aspects are shared by the both models. The new Z1000 and Ninja 1000 powered
by 1043cc produces 140 horsepower (104.5 kW) at 10,000 rpm and maximum torque
of 110 Nm at 7,300 rpm. Overall, the new six-speed transmission system provides
a better response along the way. The 4-cylinder inline DOHC 16-valve also received
a new electronic engine management.
During the event, Kawasaki Motors (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd unveiled both price; Z1000 - RM76,900, Ninja1000 - RM82,900 (basic w/o panniers)
